Browse through some of our project vignettes, each one features something special and custom, for example this classically styled fireplace with a contemporary flair. The mantle and breast is completely custom made using hand selected limestone, cut, milled and polished to designer specification. The firebox which features an automatic gas fired white birch log set is set in red herringbone fire brick and remote controlled.
This Art Deco chair in ebonized zebra wood and fitted with hand forged brass sabots or ferrules (feet) and covered in pearlized leather for dining or occasional use was created by T.L. Henry New York. It is a perfect example of the quality and materials we use. We are known in the industry for creating exquisite custom
made furniture, lighting, upholstery, rugs and accessories.
At Kevin J. Maher Interior Design we believe every space tells a story. With over 40 years experience, our projects reflect our commitment to our client's design needs and wishes. Custom designing is in our DNA -- I started in 1978, drawing and sketching French furniture, built-ins and paneling for the venerable Auffray & Company, as draftsman and assistant to the world famous designer William Turner and furniture designer for pioneer in the design industry Lorin Marsh.
Another example is this primary bath for a penthouse in California, which features Vedera 3-way mirrors, vessel sinks, Phylrich wall mounted faucets with Cambria Quartz double bull-nose surfacing. The cabinetry is an Italian gloss laminate that simulates lacquered-linen.
The crystal cabinet knobs and pulls add a touch of understated elegance and glamor.
We work with S. M. Berger Architecture P.C. in Great Neck, NY for new construction and remodels, and together with our local showrooms, vendors and cadre of specialized cabinet makers, upholsterers, artisans and finishers create the bespoke interiors we are known for.
From initial interior design consultation and presentation to the design development phase and final installation, our streamlined process ensures that our design projects runs smoothly and efficiently.

For the Garden City Hotel's Regency Ballroom, our 1985 design for the architectural paneling, wall treatments and lighting were inspired by the 1930's French Luxury Liner "Normandy" and still exist today.

This style, which I call New Colonial, juxtaposes traditional crown moldings and Louix XVI chairs with modern art to create an inviting and elegant background for the cerused oak dining table set with glittering crystal candelabra.
This award winning, classically inspired living room designed in 1995 features a Schonbek Versailles chandelier laden with cut crystal. Custom drapery panels and festoons are hand-blocked silk. The bespoke Channel sofa is covered in an airy matelasse. Raw silk stripe on chair. The Tibetan Rug was made to order by Stark.
